Biodiversity Fun Class: MSIG Indonesia and MSIG Life Raise Environmental Awareness Among Foster Children with Yayasan GNOTA

MSIG Indonesia and MSIG Life, as foster parents, collaborated with GNOTA Foundation to organize an environmental education program titled “Biodiversity Fun Class” at several elementary schools. This activity aims to increase environmental awareness among school children. MSIG Indonesia and MSIG Life, as companies committed to sustainability, are dedicated to participating in efforts to curb climate change by preserving and protecting biodiversity. One form of this commitment is through the Biodiversity Fun Class for foster children, with the hope of raising their environmental awareness.

The program was held on June 13, 2024, at SDN Caringin 02 Tangerang, June 19, 2024, at SDN Kebayoran Lama 07 Grogol, and June 20, 2024, at SDN Karang Tengah 04 Bogor, with participants being 5th-grade students from each school. The event was attended by the Director of MSIG Indonesia, Soichiro Tsuchida, and the Director of MSIG Life, Ken Terada, who participated in supporting and facilitating these classes.

Soichiro Tsuchida, Director of MSIG Indonesia, stated, “Sustainability is not just a concept for us, but a responsibility. Through collaboration with MSIG Life and support from various organizations like GNOTA and Save the Children, we strive to make a real impact in environmental conservation efforts. Through the Biodiversity Fun Class, we not only educate children about the importance of biodiversity but also inspire them to become future protectors of the Earth.”

Ken Terada, Director of MSIG Life, added, “This collaboration demonstrates our commitment to contributing to the environment and society. We believe that early education and environmental awareness will create a generation that is more caring and responsible towards nature.”

This activity was also supported by 24 volunteers who are employees of MSIG Indonesia and MSIG Life. During the sessions, the children participated in various educational activities, including simple science experiments on the effects of greenhouse gases and glacier melting. Additionally, they watched videos introducing climate change issues, took part in interactive activities, and listened to storytelling about different types of waste and how to manage them. It is hoped that through this class, children will better understand the importance of protecting the environment and apply this knowledge in their daily lives. By sharing their experiences with their families and communities, they can work together to maintain the environment for sustainability and a better life.
