Dedikasi Untuk Negeri : Build to Give Supports Foster Children in Special Needs Schools
As part of a commitment to support inclusive education for children with special needs, the Build to Give: Supporting Foster Children in Special Needs Schools program was a successful commitment under the initiative “Dedikasi Untuk Negeri.” This program was held from November 25 to December 2, 2024, providing a total donation of IDR 345,000,000 to several Special Needs Schools (SLB) across Indonesia.
The donation was distributed to six SLBs:
- Wisma Tuna Ganda Therapy School, Jakarta (27 foster children)
- SLB Swakarya, Jakarta (51 foster children)
- SLB Harapan Ibu, Jakarta (45 foster children)
- SLB Karakter Mandiri, Bukittinggi (44 foster children)
- SLB PGRI Kamal, Bangkalan (36 foster children)
- SLB Kusuma Bangsa, Kendari (35 foster children)
Through this program, recipient schools received learning support facilities, including intervention rooms equipped with Montessori teaching aids, independent learning packages, and entrepreneurship training. Additionally, the program provided assistive devices for children with disabilities, such as wheelchairs, hearing and speech aids, braille boards, and sensory canes.
“Dedikasi Untuk Negeri” believes that every child, without exception, deserves access to quality education. With this support, it is hoped that SLB students will become more independent and gain essential skills to help them in their daily lives.
Yayasan Lembaga GNOTA expresses its gratitude for the collaboration with Dedikasi Untuk Negeri. This program is not just about providing material assistance but also a concrete step toward building equality and better opportunities for children with special needs. Through collaboration and compassion, we can all contribute to creating a more inclusive future for them.
